Yep, its the sun that is making them droop. They were perfectly perky this morning when I took the dog out. As soon as noon passed, they have started to droop. I think that is why my cucumber is drooping too. I misted the leaves down with water and the cucumber plant has been perking up.
Everything will have to grow in pots. We have learned that the soil here doesn't grow things well. We planted the cabbage in the ground and that looks horrible. It is hardly growing at all.
They are in a large pot and are supported well (all are supported by stakes). Its only the top 3 inches or so that are drooping and many of the leaves are as well. I will check in the morning to see if it was maybe just the heat.
As far as the radishes, I will leave them in the ground for a bit...
We've been getting rain off and on for the past few weeks, so I haven't bothered to water. I checked the soil and the first cm is dry but under that the soil is moist. These tomatoes are in a pot. The tops are starting to droop. Any ideas on why or how to correct it?
On the radishes. I read on...
I was so excited today when I measured the height of my cucumber plant and found it had grown 1/2 an inch! I'll be taking more pictures as they continue to grow and as I add more to the garden.
I transplanted my corn into the ground and it seems to be doing fine. It might rain today so I'm holding off on watering anyone. The dirt in the pots seems moist anyway and it won't be very hot today.
Actually I think I was over watering my carrots because the largest plant was drooping over...
Well I transplanted the corn. I tried to disturb the roots as little as possible and I planted it where there is lots of sun. I also planted some corn around it. It seems all my plants are doing well for the most part. My radishes are beginning to develop their true leaves, my cucumber is about...
Well I watered today since its going to be so hot and I might water them tomorrow, but Wednesday we might have some rain. I'll look for a rain gauge next time I go to Southern States.
This was my garden weeks ago when everything was just getting started. Things are still just getting started, but at least I have a few plants.

Its already acclimated to outside. All my plants are at this point. So would I just dig it out of the pot and put it in the ground in a place with a lot of sun?
Also, how do you measure out an inch of water for a week? How many gallons is that?
I have a single cucumber plant that just developed its first true leaf and its second is on the way. I know that cucumbers are a vine plant and need something to climb. Is it better to use a wire cage or a straight support?
Also, I have corn sprouts coming up. How much water do they require...
Well I have one huge corn sprout in a pot (I know corn doesn't do well in pots. I just wanted something growing while I waited on my other stuff), one cucumber plant that just grew its first true leaf and the second is on its way. I have 7 radish sprouts, and 4 tomato plants that are doing well...
And does anyone have any thoughts about my cucumber seedlings? The seedling with one leaf shriveling has completely lost that bad leaf. The bad leaf is almost completely shriveled. The one that has the tips of its leaves shriveled is now almost completely shriveled. The one that is limp is doing...
I was told that cucumbers like warm weather. I have three seedlings, all of which have something wrong with them. One just likes to flop over, one the ends of its leaves are shriveling despite the fact they have plenty of water, and the other has one leaf that is shriveling and dying, while the...
Thanks for the reply. Yea, we froze some lettuce and it turned into mush. What about veggies that have a lot of water in them like celery, radishes, and such. They don't freeze well either.
I was wondering if there is any way to preserve leafy greens for later use. I feed my pet rodents a 50/50 diet where 50% of their diet comes from veggies, fruits, grains, ect. I need a way of possibly preserving leafy greens as they tend to spoil so quickly.
