Anyone ever grown these? I've been reading some reviews and they sound like the perfect "starter tomato plant" for a beginner like me. I'm particularly interested in comments on taste.
Thanks
This has went from misunderstanding to ridiculous! At no point did I even suggest that the Boston Marathon bombing was less than a tragedy. I never said that we should not feel sorrow for the victims and families of the that or any other disaster, natural or man made. I've never even mentioned...
Yes, a young woman died, and that is a tragedy. My point is that everyday 90 people are murdered on the streets and highways and it rarely makes national news. They too have mothers and fathers and children, but because we don't see it on television we are complacent. In some states you can kill...
Thank you for your understanding and support RR.
As for my using "bait and switch tactics", that's never my intent. It's just that my logic is so convoluted that it sometimes takes weird turns that, while obvious to me are not apparent to others. As an example, after reading your post for the...
One of the things I really like about an active forum; I can scan through the topics, find the ones that interest me and the rest I mark as read without ever opening them. The ones I really find interesting I subscribe to.
But than, that's just me.
I was watching BBC's "The Edwardian Farm" and they were using seaweed for fertilizer in their market garden. They would go to the coast and collect seaweed, spread it around and plow it in. Wouldn't the salt be a problem?
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea mxima culpa.
I apologize to all who were offended by the wording of my initial post. It was meant to shock and did accomplish that, in most cases to well apparently.
It does however, prove one thing. Like Sandy Hook and Boston, both sad days to be sure, it created a...
It always amazes me that posting the truth in "Random Ramblings" is trolling, if the facts are contrary to popular opinion, or make you stop and think.
As for "when do I find time to garden?" How long does it take? I've already put most of the seeds in the soil. Do you sit and watch the corn grow?
First, I'm not clear on how you equate posting statistics with complaining about government. :hu
Second, you're always suggesting that there are "other forums". I challenge you to find one that has a following that is a wide cross section of the population like we have here.. Not right-wing...
Good news! Good news!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Seeing little green leaves on the major limbs. Not many yet, but it's going to make it.

Yes, it was a tragedy! My heart goes out to all who were touched by this dastardly act, but let's take a wider view;
In 2010 (The latest year that statistics are readily available for.) there were, in the U.S. an average of:
90 deaths per day and 6,027 injuries per day caused by traffic...
Yes, most states have adopted some form of Section 6 of the U.S. Constitution:
I did a quick search of the New Hampshire Constitution and can find no such clause.
The Travis County, Texas District Attorney was arrested and will plead guilty to Driving While Intoxicated.
Not to worry though. After all. she is an elected official. As a politician she is a professional. :gig

Hi CSis,
I really don't know anything about raising asparagus, but I do remember my grandmother had planted some in her Victory Garden during The Big One (WWII. You heard of it? It was in all the papers. :gig ) As late as the mid-1950's she still had it taking over her back yard. They'd tried...
