all parts weeded, leveled and ready for planting. i do a little light cultivating of the rows before planting so that i can get the seeds down far enough that they won't pop back out when watering. while this is still a pretty good garden with the soil quality better than most of the others it...
it hasn't really rained enough to keep the grass in full gear, but that is ok with me as then i can squeeze in a few more days between mowing. the temperatures are on the increase now but overnight we're still getting into the low 50sF. daytime temperatures in the mid-70sF and then heading up...
finished planting the network beans in a 2nd garden so there is diversity in locations. a few seeds kept back for each of them just in case...
tomorrow on to the next bean garden. not sure yet what i'm putting there. :)
it may take me several hours to get it all weeded - it's a pretty big...
they are geared to do their rounds at times relative to sunrise and sunset. we have some that come around each day too. i keep my windows closed (too much noise and allergic reactions to pollens so in the end it saves me a lot aggravation to leave them closed). we also have some mourning...
i planted some of each packet of the network beans here today and filled the rest of the garden up with some bulk beans (Purple Dove and Yellow Eye) and then some other mixed selections of beans from last season.
so off they go!
felt good to be done with it. :)
i did get a large garden weeded and planted and also weeded some thistles out of another garden (which will be the next in line to be planted).
was a bit warmer than i expected today and a nice breeze that certainly helped keep me cooler, but it was blowing enough that i didn't get the bean...
amazing, someone did what they said they would do. :)
the field to the south of us got mowed today and so we won't have this round of flowering thistles to worry about. he said he would mow it again when it gets about to flower a 2nd time.
it's getting green and looking nicer every day...
paraquat is a herbicide that authorities in other countries (Mexico and Columbia being the major ones at that time) that were growing pot would spray to kill it, but sometimes the growers would still be able to harvest it and sell it if they could catch it in time. very nasty stuff.
if things go well today i should be able to get a garden weeded and planted today if i go all out. then rains in the forecast for several days which means i may not get much more planted. hard to say as rain forecasts are not always accurate... not what i want here, rain delays, but weather...
i think those pink clematis will fade towards more white as the blossoms age, but they are still beautiful. :) we have the same type here.
irises can sure take over in the full sun. :)
just for grins, i thought they looked like a big fan tail goldfish...
i don't know why, but Mom did not...
*whew!* was getting worried about the thistles that are about to bloom and so i rang the neighbor who owns the field and he said he was just getting ready to mow the problem areas. i told him i was very glad to hear that and would kiss his feet. :) not having all those thistle seedlings...
