We actually have to put up road blocks, and at certain times patrols, on washed out roads around here so people really DON'T try the whole "Dukes of Hazzard" stuff!!!:smack
I never thought about grafting. That might be our next endeavor. We have plenty of room to plant, so I won't take the chance of killing her first apple tree (I'm not experienced in grafting). I'm sure there will be many more to come now that this little guy sprouted.
Thank you. If it has a seed in it you can bet she's going to want to put it in dirt. We have three avocado pits in the window seal partly submerged in water (although I've heard that you don't get fruit when you grow them like we are, but it'll be a few more trees to plant at least). We are...
She just decided she wanted to as she was eating the apple. We didn't do anything to them except stick them in some seed starter that we had on hand. There's actually two, but I don't for sure know the other one is an apple tree. It might be an elm because we get those volunteering all the time...
Jaci (my 9 y/o daughter) decided that she wanted to grow an apple tree! So here we go!!! Started from a Granny Apple seed. We'll try to grow just about anything around our house.:D It looks like a little snake sticking its tongue out to me.

My husband never wants to do anything during the "learning" stage, but when I start getting good at it he likes to swoop in and take half the credit o_O. I just can't say too much because he has to put up with me through all the trial and error stuff until I finally get it right . Maybe he...
Usually I'm okay seeding my pepper the same time I do everything else, but with the crazy weather this year they just don't want to take off. The local meteorologist said that in April we got 5 inches over the average rainfall and the weather has been cooler than average as well. It makes it...
Got some time to play in the garden yesterday...
Carrots that I planted back before I got the spring garden ready. I decided just to leave them be instead of trying to transplant. I direct seeded more carrots in the garden as well.
Sugar Snap Peas... hopefully they'll produce before the hot...
My husband's granddad on his mother's side was actually born in Mexico (although you can't tell it by looking at them and none of them speak a lick of Spanish o_O), and up until about 6 years ago he had never lived anywhere but Texas, so the Mexican runs deep for us,. We actually still...
