Summer Solstice and i napped through it.
so we're now on the other side of the hump until six months from now when we start the cycle all over again, but really every moment we're still on the cycle no matter what...
woke up to go to bed. long day, no pun intended but i did smirk a bit... :)
do your Hatch chilis come out tasting ok? i've not grown them here yet (and probably won't), but i'm curious how it goes when they aren't in their original prime growing region (and yes, i've had them many times out there :) ).
as for critter control we have a few kitties that wander around at...
it will be a challenge to get this last garden weeded and planted soon, but as it is outside the fence it may all get eaten by deer, etc. anyways. so while it will get weeded at some point i am not going to fret too much if it takes me a week or two longer - not when the steamy temperatures are...
any unsolicited messages should be handled carefully. if they claim to be from some governmental organization look their contact number up in a few places to call them back and then use that number instead. i would not trust some random website for verification until i had more information...
so, garden like it is 1935?!
in all of my years of visiting my grandparents and greatgrandparents i never saw any of them or my aunts and uncles in the garden... i spent more time out there than any of them and i wasn't working it much at all either, at least not until we had the house more...
yesterday and last night and today rains. i decided a book to read was suitable reply to such natural events. now, though, rains again, and i'm delving into historical stuff because i'm out of elsewises.
don't worry about my flagrant use of strange languages from yore, you'd be doing likewise...
from nosing around i see a mention of planting to mid-June so you should get some kind of return. :)
i've grown many RL purple beans and some others of his too and they seem to be pretty reliable.
i went out and warned Mom a while ago that the rains would be here, but she said she was going to stay out and get it done. it's warm out so i'm not worried about her catching a chill but if there is lightning i'll have to go out and reel her in...
i think they are pre-cooked to some extent.
i don't really like the texture of potatoes cut into chunks and cooked in soups and then frozen, but if you get the soup hot enough again they are not too bad, mashed potatoes work a lot better.
overall though they are not things i do often but Mom...
one of the hardest things for us with the clematis is that they like cooler roots and enough moisture and we have full sun and it can bake here at times and we don't get them enough water.
also the deer sometimes will come through and eat them (and one kind the bunnies went after repeatedly).
all the rains so far have just been north of us teasing me but eventually we may get some this morning.
[later edit]
yes, we have raindrops hitting the ground!
i did nap a little bit this morning but not too late as i found out this morning that we were having some friends over for a visit so if i was going to get any weeding done today it had to be as soon as i could get outside. which got me next to the pea shoots for some fresh greens for a snack...
water is a good start, the others involve too much noise or effort, plus it is hot and dry outside you need something to sweat out (which is also quiet).
i cannot blame today's nibbling damage in the peas on the groundhogs, bunnies, etc. yes, it was me, and they were delicious. :)
i was right there weeding that garden and they just lept right into my mouf!
the archaic version of leapt...
