celebration time! :) i just finished weeding the gardens inside the fence at last - about six weeks later than normal.
i'm still behind weeding a few gardens outside the fence gardens too, but not so bad as i've at least gotten to one of the big gardens along the pathway already, but now it...
this poison ivy is still making me want to gnaw my arm off. this morning Mom says "Put some baking soda and AVC paste on it and it will go away." so i tried it. worked a little but calamine lotion works better, except there are times when it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. i tried...
for a few years we let them wander around the front gardens and they tended to like the gravel pathways which wasn't what Mom really wanted and i didn't want them to spread to the back so we've mostly removed them by now.
i did really like how they looked. i did not like that they harbored...
if you are planting a few beans you can do that sort of thing, but really how much difference is it really? do you think the bean root can't figure out which way to grow even if it is pointed up or down? and if you point the eye down that means the top part has to twist around as much as the...

"The starchy vegetable emerged 9 million years ago in the forming Andes mountains — a result of natural interbreeding between an ancient tomato plant and potato-like species that lacked the engorged stem bits we call...

glad you're about too. and yes cake can help in a lot of situations.
if you don't count them they don't count... that's the cat's attitude, is it not?
it makes me feel good that there is at least one productive person out of some eight billion of us... :) but i won't get upset about it in the slightest as she seems to do a good job.
All I can say is it looks like a bush with purple flowers and it is in the SW. :)
Any hints? And yes, sorry it's not the best picture but can't get a better one.
yes, bringing in good topsoil is a great answer to poor conditions and even flooding or drainage issues can be helped because you're getting above the flood stages but you need to do it before you set up your gardens and hardscaping.
when they built this place there weren't any plans to garden...
...
um, no, i can't do that for 3 acres and many thousands of plants and it's not my property.
when i've dug up established thistles here it often takes two or three rounds of digging to finally get all the roots out. the seedlings i can weed right when i see them are much easier but it still...
