on to a new garden today to put up, i'm so excited! well, ok, i'm mildly enthused but the happy part will be going through and picking any dry beans that remain for me to harvest that i've missed up to this point or have finished up since the last time i went through picking. since there are...
we don't know if the plants you put out were started by you from certain seeds or if they were plants you purchased? in my case i'd planted a bunch of plants that were grown from certain seeds that the plants were uniform in appearance when i put them in but i also did not dig the last foot of...
i needed a nap and was able to get some dreaming in, it was a silly dream about Mom singing some song wrong all the time and we were laughing about it as i was trying to get her to sing it with the right lyrics. funny to me though even more is that it was nothing at all to do with the music i'm...
@digitS' are your gardens all put up for the winter or still in progress?
i'm still a week or two from finishing... of course there's always something to do out there even if i'm mostly done.
it looks like two days on for garden chores and then a day or two off for rain which is fine with me as it gives me time to rest up, recover and shell out some beans to be ready for the next round.
i didn't even think there were chances of rain back in the forecast for today, but i did look before i went outside to putter around for a while. some clouds looked like they may drip and i wasn't too enthusiastic about what i was doing so that was enough for me.
it could be that the root system did not grow properly, got tangled together, there's an obstruction in the soil, or... sometimes things like this do happen.
i've never had a place indoors where i could dig up such a plant and then root prune it and see if it could regrow - it may or may not...
@Blue-Jay The resistance to BCMV is nice but the plants looked like they were more succeptible to some other things this season, could be bacterial or fungal diseases, i'm not sure what they were but it didn't look like it made that much difference and the plants were productive so overall i'd...

Ocean Nematodes: "...What we know is that both Desmoscolex sp. and Greeffiella sp measure in at around 0.08mm, making them one of the smallest animals in the water, and vindicating the claim that a true list of smallest...
half a garden weeded and cleaned up for winter. dunno where all the grass in there came from as it wasn't in there last year. i sure hope it doesn't come back next year. i'll have to keep a closer eye on it...
not as much grass in the 2nd half and that will make things easier when i can get...
i was sure weeks ago that the garden i started working on today did not have any beans left in it that i was particularly worried about.
as i was double checking today i came across some Four Corners Red plants that had plenty of pods on them, they all need to dry down a bit more and i'm not...
