Spider plant getting a new pot

Agreed. When I got a new fridge last Fall I kept the freezer bin and now my 8mo GSD puppy, Tegan, has a toy box.

    Baymule’s Farm

@baymule I am SO sorry for your livestock difficulties. The last thing you NEED is deadstock and a bad back!!! :hugs:hugs:hugs For your back, hug your knees as often as possible. The pillow under your knees helps, too. If the Tramadol starts becoming less effective--it is NOT as strong as...

    Your Weather, 2026

Ha, Ha! We have NO control over tornadoes. When the conditions are favorable NOAA puts out watches (a tornado COULD happen in your area,) and warnings (a tornado has been spotted on the ground and may travel to your area.) They are predictable but most do not even travel from the cloud to the...

Your containers need NOT be clear--opaque, like a Mountain Dew bottle works just fine. The bottle creates a greenhouse/terrarium, there is enough moisture next to the seeds bc of the drainage holes on the bottom, moisture evaporates and then rewaters them, and they sprout ONLY when there are...

2026, My year of Garden Narcissism

Working on my winter sowing. I have sown 11 bottles as of this morning, the smaller bottles have 2 Alaska Snow Peas in them, the larger bottle has 4. I cut the top off of it. I tested putting the top back on--won't do that again. This plastic is too fragile and I got a dent in the bottom half...

The Complete Beginner’s Guide to Backyard Gardening

This is a good follow up to distinguish between native species and invasive plants, which ONLY means plants from other places, mostly other continents, that have no natural predators. Animals won't eat them, so you have to get rid of them yourself. I still maintain that in the Winter, if you...

    Funny Business

2000 was the same year that "Star Wars 1" was supposed to bedazzle us--turned out to be a real yawner, but THIS film was the star.

The Complete Beginner’s Guide to Backyard Gardening

SO MUCH of gardening is preparation. In my garden I am beginning to remove 3 years worth of weed growth. I don't have to dig them up. I am taking advantage of their root systems breaking up the soil For me. I only need to lop off the tops with the seeds and burn those and let the weed roots...

    Your Weather, 2026

Snow has delayed one Olympic event in Rome bc they just got 4 inches of it! Groundhog was wrong this year. My grass is greening up. I keep hearing some birds fighting outside of one of my south facing windows, too. High of 67 degrees F today and a chance of T storms/tornadoes as well.

    A Seed Saver's Garden

I would think that Sweet Peas would do quite well in your cooler climate. I am questioning why you want to grow Queen Anne's Lace. It is native to GB, but is an invasive in my neck of the woods and frequently tries to grow wild on my property. Perhaps you might consider growing yallow, which...

They will be, I think, since we all spend a LOT of time opening up our refridgerators--hard to miss them there. BTW, the clear plastic saucers Were, last year, $1/4 saucers at Dollar General.

2026, My year of Garden Narcissism

I up potted the herbs, cleaned the top of my fridge, put them on a heat mat--it's still winter, ya know--and put them all under an LED light, along with a small, plastic watering can of sorts. I need to check them--the heat mat will dry them out, but will help them thrive, too--trade off is...

Best choice for large pot bush or flower

Purple Hot Thai peppers. If you don't like hot peppers, you could harvest, dry out, pulverize and make a nifty vegetable insect spray. Also, add marigolds to the outside edges of the pots.

2026, My year of Garden Narcissism

I bought some potted herbs at Meijer on Thursday, too--sage, thyme, parsley and mint. I cleaned off the top of the fridge, cleaned the heat mat and LED light that I had stored in the back room--I should have all 4 transplanted by this evening. I think we all should assume that purchased plants...

2026, My year of Garden Narcissism

Rain predicted for 3:30PM through about 11PM. "Red skies in the morning, sailors take warning." I gotta get the ponies done before the rain hits this afternoon. I have been doing kitchen cleaning/organizing. I brought my rake up to the house and I hope to force myself to clean up after Tegan...
