The cucumber that I'm trying this year is 'Cool Breeze', one that supposedly self-fertilizes. I have yet to harvest a full grown cucumber though. All of them die off as little tiny babies.

I'm getting a lot of splitting, especially with the Cherokee Purple. The only almost-ripe tomato is so severely split, only half of it will be edible. It's pretty small, to boot. :(

I planted a few 'Encore' reds about two weeks ago and so far, no signs of life. There were a few greenish white shoots when I put them in the ground so I'm keeping my fingers crossed they'll take.

Yep, I read this somewhere else which further motivated me to start saving seed. That and the ridiculous amount of money I don't spend buying them.

What are the best practices for it? I'm planning ahead for next year and would like to save seeds from my heirloom tomatoes. I supposed I can Google but I like posting here better :D.
