They are a type of edible Fungus.....usually about the size of a Soft Ball or smaller....this one weighed about 5 1/2 lbs..... you have to pick them when they are still white inside and not turning yellow...then they're too far gone.

Neat story....it sounds like they are getting ready for the "Chicken Olympics"......the only problem would be that no chicken would want to carry the Olympic Torch....(Fricasee)...not really welcomed....:/

Crazy weather up here in Northern Michigan...one day it was 53 (record highs)...... and the next morning I drove to work it was -7 degrees...I was frozen solid.

I've been checking all of my Dahlia tubers in the basement.....I know they want to be planted.....I don't have the heart to tell them they have 3 1/2 more months to go before the ground is warm enough....then I start planting like crazy!!!:P

I'm wanting Spring as well..... lesa.... On wintering Fuschias..... I bring in my baskets of mother plants....very little water...just enough to keep them going.....and about the 2nd week of February...I put them in a warmer area....extra water(warm water) and watch them sprout new leaves...
