    raised garden beds

    If your soil is to fertile, to much nitogen from all the poop, the plant will grow fast and tall but not produce much of a fruit. It all went into producing the green plant.

    Composting leaves

    Ialways let my grass grow a little longer as the leaves are falling. I then mow the green grass and shred the brown leaves at the same time. Rather than having layers, I now have a mixture. Oh ya, I also layer in chick poop and rotting apples and a shovel of plain old dirt every now and then

    Presents from the garden

    Gave mother-in-law 1 qt jar: , tomato juice, whole tomatoes, apple pie filling, peaches, dill pickles 1pt jar: apple sauce, salsa, apple jelly 1 large sweet potato also got rid of a large wicker basket to carry it all in.

    Ladybugs?!

    I agree with meandmygals. they live in the soybeans and when beans gone they move into the house. We have them until they move out in the spring. Vacuum or kill them doesn't matter,more just keep coming (litterally) out of the woodwork.
