I have some dusty millers in a flower bed from last year.
Last winter, I didn't do anything to them and they were still alive this past spring, but they were really rough looking. For this winter, do I need to cut them to the ground? Or how do I get them to freshen up?
One of the local stores, Menards, has all their bulbs for $1.00. (marked down from at least $4.00) So if I stock up this year, will they still be good to plant next year?
We have an old set of stairs in front of our house.
The stairs aren't used and are about 4 feet or so from the road. I thought some sort of flowing flower would be kind of neat, cascading down the steps... but I don't know what kind of flower that would be.
Any one have any ideas on what I...
I'm trying to figure out what I can freeze/can this year. (canning newbie... AHHH!)
Is there anything I can do with cabbage or is that an eat-or-lose-it type of veggie?
I planted Asters, Zinnias, and Snapdragons inside b/c the packages said they could be started early indoors.
They have all started growing and the Zinnias are very stemmy and about 3 inches in height.
Is this how flowers grow, or did I mess something up?
My boyfriend's mom got me some tulips for Easter. I moved them into a bigger pot and have kept them watered.
Now all the blooms have fallen off and I was just wondering what I need to do now. Do I need to cut them to get it to re-bloom? Just leave it alone?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
