Turn it upside down and bury the broken base and you've got a planter:)

They do tend to sprawl out of bounds. If space is limited, look for the "bush" type summer squash there's many varieties available now. They behave better and take up less space. Sometimes it's hard to find the seeds for the bush type, but their out there. Trisha

I don't know if I can find the link, but I read that after you wash the lettuce you should soak the lettuce in a vinegar/water solution for a few minutes. I think you rinse it again, but I can't remember:( It's supposed to reduce bacteria and keep the lettuce safer for storage. Trisha
