I need advice from a houseplant expert.

Should I cover it all at once, or an inch at a time?

    Daylilie Emergency!

Yes, the spot I put them in has a small border fence but more importantly, the dog has been confined out of reach of my planting beds.

    Daylilie Emergency!

I put then in the ground and watered them in well. I hope they will come back out. The pup was only interested in them because they were still in pots and sitting in a place that she thought they shouldn't have been. I now think she was right. I shouldn't have left them there... ;)

    Daylilie Emergency!

I know you jest. The dog is worth it's weight in daylilies! She is my next gen livestock guardian dog. I have goats and chickens and couldn't operate without my Anatolians (even if they are a pain while in the puppy stage.)

    Daylilie Emergency!

Thanks, Steve! As soon as I saw your reply, I thought, "Hey! I remember him!" Yes, it has been a long time since I was here or at BYC. I didn't have FB back then and when I started using it, I spent most of my screen time there. Now, I have gotten disenchanted with FB and am looking at...

    $150,000 Antique Found in dumpster

Jacobsladder - I do that, too! I have rescued several houseplants from the garbage at work. We have large planters in the public areas an they get ripped out and tossed if they don't look good enough to suit the "plant lady." I pull them out and repot them. Once they are healthy and look...
