    Floating row covers on tomatoes?

I'm talking about the agri-fabric type. I have researched the wall-o waters for the them and the do not seem very reasonable price wise. I plan to grow them on black plastic so I am hoping the soil temperature does not become an issue if I lay it a week or so in advance of planting.

    Floating row covers on tomatoes?

Does anyone have any experience using floating row covers on tomatoes? I started tomatoes on Jan 4 and plan to put them in the ground mid march. I'm just experimenting this year to see if I can get early yields with decent tomatoes. Most nights around here in mid march are in the 40's to 50's...

    scrawny, skinny seedlings - why?

They need light. I put mine under florescent lights just a few inches away. Make sure the light bulbs our fairly new. Put the light on chains and move the chain up as the seedlings get bigger. Good luck!

At what size should I pick my peas?

My peas just started coming in last week and I am wondering what size to pick them or in other words what size do most people like them best. Should I let them get a decent size or wait until they are full and tight.

    Pole bean supports

We grow ours on a woven wire fence with a row or two of twine running across the top depending on the type of bean. It's ok if they hang over the top a little bit. When fall comes and they die, just rip them of the fence.

    Orchard Mason Bees

The farm that I work at bought boxes of bees for the past two years and set them out in their fields with their lopes. They said that the bees return to the box (that has holes) every night. I don't know how long this last and I don't know what kind of bees they were. I thought it was a good way...

    Drip Watering vs. Sprinklers

I am growing a large patch of pumpkins this year and cannot decide between the two. Overhead watering would be easier and cheaper but isn't the drip method healthier for the plants and will I get better results? Or do you think I would make out fine with overhead watering?

    Containers and blue berries

You will never know unless you try and if they do happen to get to hot on really hot day then just slide them out of the sun. That's the good thing about containers :D

    Containers and blue berries

I would go talk to someone local to see if you can grow them in your zone and if so then what type to plant. I'm sure there is a type for your zone, just make sure before you buy anything. If you find a type that will grow in your zone then I don't think it would be any problem growing them in...
