    Fall gardening in the Mojave.

    I'm beginning a list of fall vegetables and would appreciate suggestions. I'm already planning Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage and Lettuce. Our growing area is small but sufficient for our needs. Current planning is for 2, maybe three plants of the first 3 and 4 of Lettuce.

    Good luck to you. I'm in the Mojave, just at the base of the Sierras, so yes, middle of most people's nowhere. How's the rain/ monsoon doing this year? Will you be selling to outside your area or only local? I miss the Paloverde and Ocatillos and believe they can be grown here.

    What is an easy and organic, if possible, way to rid vegetable garden of leaf eating beetles? Chili Spray? Lavender spray? Am growing corn, potatoes, chilis, peppers, tomatoes, tomatillos, etc, etc.

    Hi there,

    It's somewhat early am in July in the Mojave Desert. At 7:30 its about 90 with 30% humidity -- that's very high, usually we have 5 to 9% humidity. As far as weather goes, the other important item is wind (W it's called so as not to stir up the weather gods). That about introduces my gardening...
