Perhaps a test forum could be a very short-term page and not appear on "Recent Posts." Just, a thread and a few posts, helpful or otherwise . . .
A place for scribbles
. . . Just to see whether one can do that sort of thing. We have the chance to "edit"
on TEG - which is a very good thing but doing that, especially late, leaves the reader wondering what the heck happened.
I suppose that our messages
might get a silly with clutter. But, I sometimes have little idea what my post will look like even after using preview. (And, little ideas are about all I'm used to having
.) But, I've posted pictures that I've almost gone back and deleted, for example.

Edited to Add: Now that I think about it -- a test forum could well be combined with an off-topic forum. But, i don't think either should have much memory to them . . . pages, and pages of history (that might be held against you later
).
