Russ's 2025 Big Bean Show Day 35

Margot - Bush Dry. The bean plants stayed very small low to the ground. Almost like they were trying to conserve water in a desert setting. However I wound up with more seed than I started with. A bean From Evan Knott who lives in BC Canada.

Mariazeller - Pole Dry. Originally acquired from my Lienbenfels, Austria bean friend in 2013. The bean did well enough this past summer so I have a supply of seed for maybe a couple of years. I do love the beauty of this bean and the good quality of seed it produces.

Wow, those are pretty!

I'm curious where did you get this photo of a tan bean if the USDA says Ferrat are white.?
The photo is of the.seeds I received from you. Your website has the same. It is rather puzzling. I was wondering where the discrepancy might have occurred but you did say you’d noticed inaccuracies in their recording of info.

Russ's 2025 Big Bean Show Day 36

Mestia Svaneti - Pole Snap Dry?. This bean seems very similar to Lilaschecke. Seed color and pattern is similar and as I remember it also has yellow pods. It is one of the Joseph Simcox beans he collected in the country of Georgia.

Midnight Blue - Semi Runner Dry. A Robert Lobitz orignal named bean he released through the Seed Savers Exchange yearbook in 2001. I acquired the bean in 2017 from a former Seed Savers Exchange member who at the time had passed away and a neighbor had take over part of his colletion in the state of Maine. This past summers grow out was productive and my 5th grow out in eight years. That is quite frrequent as I get a lot of request for blue beans.

Milky Way - Pole Dry. From my Austrian bean friend in 2018. This year was my first grow out of the bean and it was very productive. It produced one off type with such nice quality seed that I think it will probably be worth growing out that off type.
