Sooo....you know that hardy rosemary that I bought last Fall? Rosemary can't make it through my winters.
It slowly died by the left side of my kitchen sink. I wasn't able to get to the post office and it looked pretty sad when I finally picked it up, then I let it sit potbound...it was a recipe for plant death!
DD's were polite and never said anything as they walked by it. I finally had to put it to rest. Youngest DD said she would buy me a new one. I tt her bc they only had 2 in stock and another supplier was OOS, so I ordered it.
i abHOR ordering Anything that ships USPS, but this one will be shipping UPS to the house.
It is ok in zone 6. I am on the northern End of zone 6, so I might offer it some protection.
Rosemary IS, after all, a Mediterranean plant. MAYBE I will pot it, grow it on the south side of the house, then move the pot to the east side of the house for protection, like I did for my now 14 ft all dwarf Magnolia.
I have a pot with sprouted onions on my enclosed porch doing quite well and that might be a good overwintering spot for the rosemary. I might try cuttings, too...
Here's where I found it.

Allow me to vent...DD's helped me set up autopay for a few vendors, and to help with my new accounts, since we all went to the Bank 2 weeks ago to take Jim's name off of them. As I make my phone calls, one is to cancel my INet services, which has been costing me $175.00/month. We also went to Verizon same day to update the contact for That account. They offered me a brand new modem, very good service, $45.00/month.
As I wait on hold with Frontier, I will have to pay them >$189 to pay for the bill due on the 18th and to close out the account.
If my math is correct: 175 - 45 = $130 Less/month
I am being charged an additional $14 to close out this account, so I will be paying $189.36 + 45 = $234.36 for my Internet in February. They have not given me a new modem in 26 years, maybe they did once.
I have NEVER gotten a call or mailing offering me a Better deal, but, when the clerk asked me why I was cancelling, I was offered INet for $29/month.
The service has never been good.
Glad to see the back end of them!

DD has a few ideas and I wll be trying them, IN the meantime I plan to clean underneath 2 of my barn pallets today and spread them on some bare earth in the lawn. MOST horse owners prefer 1st cutting, but I like 3rd cutting bc it is Full of seeds. I have also gotten in the habit of cleaning up after Tegan so nobody walks on any of it and tracks it in. Even the muddy mat won't help that!
I think you'all know that this thread will be full of minutiae. DD's and I did swapsies yesterday--a full but old roll of duct tape for a roll of masking tape. I already have blue painter's tape. I Need the duct tape for my winter sowing and I will be prepping more sowing jugs today.
...minutiae...full of spelling lessons, too...
