5 hours of weeding and they are shot!

Wow, I guess all your rain does that? Do you mulch with cardboard and wood chips to try and hold the weeds down? I remember Journey always doing that and she said it made a hugh difference for her.

Only about half the walkways between beds are mulched. The other 1/2 have grass. Path ways are wide enough for the riding mower. This summer was awful. Mower broke down several times. (Major repair) then so dry only weeds grew. Those broke off at ground level in the brick like soil. So when the rains came they sprang to life. So wet when pulling weeds everything near would pull up also. We where also busy with LIFE or not feeling up to working in the heat. We will do better next summer (I hope) with DH retired!

Some years are just like that. I just recently got my picket garden cleaned up and we never sat out there this summer to watch the hummers.
