Wifey had a fellow in the Bi Ski. He, a doctor, opened clinics in one of our states for people who could afford less. He wanted to give back more and enlisted in the military at age 65 and did two stints in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He was diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gahrigs Disease, he can't walk, or talk , his wife has to interpret what he says, has almost no use of his hand.
He came to ski with his buddies. What a great guy, what a tough thing to live with.

2. The military would never enlist anyone at the age of 65. Are you sure?

Smiles, A Bi ski is a sit ski with two skis on a knee action rig beneath a bucket seat. As the ski is turned both skis dip in that direction so that: on a left hand turn the up hill edge of each ski bites into the snow, the same on the right turn the two up hill edges tip into the snow.

Here is a Mono ski I can post, a mono is for stronger skiers with more upper body strength.
The picture shows a close up of the movable part of the rig.

The military would probably not "enlist" him at age 65, but it would accept his volunteer (with pay) services as a medical doctor in military action areas. An experienced doctor always can find a place to work in the military. My ex-cardiologist spent a couple of 'tours' in Afghanistan since I retired and he's in his early to mid fifties. Like Valley's friend, he volunteered his medical services. He wasn't "called to duty".

Wow! That ski is interesting. And pretty sophisticated, too. You called it a "mono" so I would guess the "bi" is similar with two skis and requiring less balance. Yes? Looks expensive.

I'm not a skier and I know absolutely nothing about skiing so this is very intriguing to me.

It is very bad and very quick.Stephen Hawking has had it since he was 21 and is now 70. The only one I know of to live long.
