I’ve been reading through some of the discussions here and already picked up a few useful ideas. One thing I’m trying to understand better is how people adjust their lawn care routines based on the season, especially in hotter areas where grass can get stressed pretty quickly.

For example, I’ve seen mixed opinions about watering frequency versus deep watering, and also about how low or high to keep the mowing height during summer. Some say shorter grass looks better, while others suggest keeping it a bit taller to protect the roots.

I’d really appreciate hearing what has worked best for you in maintaining a healthy lawn...... during peak heat. Do you follow a fixed routine, or do you adjust based on how the grass looks week to week

if you are in a more fire prone area keeping it cut shorter during the dry season may be important.

here i don't ever water the lawn itself on purpose, but i do use a part of the lawn to rinse out buckets or garden tools that have too much mud stuck on them.

this means that during the dry spells the lawn goes dormant except for the areas that have yarrows and other weeds that hold up better in the dry times.

i don't really like mowing so i have no concern at all how the lawn looks other than mowing it from time to time. i keep the mower up as high as i can except a few areas i mow shorter along some edges to keep the grasses from dropping seeds or having an easy time spreading into the neighboring gardens. mowing higher helps keep other weeds from getting an easy time sprouting and growing. i've never fertilized the lawn here it grows well just from what comes in the rains. the bunnies go after the weeds.

In the Pacific Northwest a lot of people are in the lawn camp of letting their lawns "get a tan" in the summer. I thought this would cause the lawns to die, but it doesn't. It saves on water and apparently lawns don't care! At least PNW ones dont!
Welcome to the forum from the Pacific Northwest!
