Pictures are backwards.
I'm planting 2 trees per paddock for my sheep to have shade as I rotate them through. Have 9 paddocks currently, but 1st has two mature trees, 2nd has two medium willows, the 3rd has two young fruit trees and the 4th has a row of pine/cedar trees. So, 5 more paddocks need trees. I will be adding a 10th paddock soon, which has trees.
Using plastic pallets to protect my trees.
Several from my other willows and a few from seeds from my past mulberry.
Got hose to reach the trees to hand water, but mulberry need more water. So, had to go buy irrigation tubing and bits to constantly drip water all 4 trees.
I have more to plant and I'll have to buy more of the tubing to water those by drip, too.
I'm also using raw fleeces from my sheep as mulch. Holds moisture very well.
Have 11 more willows and 1 mulberry left to find a spot for and plant.
I may only plant 4 more this year and wait to plant another 8 next year. That way, I won't have to buy a ton more tubing.

A willow is very near dead. An end popped off and starved them...
And...chew marks??

Have a filter on it and reducer, then the drippers on the ends.
It all gets clogged with time, once a week I blow the little end drippers clear.
All but that one are doing great. Growing fast!
Won't retry the 8th hole until I can add a lot of dirt to the area. It's very rocky, besides lack of drip, it probably isn't a good spot for a tree without lots of help.

Do you use non-toxic hoses for your plants or regular ones?

It clogs so often...there's a filter before it, but looks like I need to add some floss to further catch gunk...Some ends up on each drip end, so I have to pop those off n blow those free, too.

Gotta figure out a better water leadout for summer watering. Maybe the black hose, seems tougher than garden hose!
Moved the final 8 willows to where they'll be better watered. They kept dying back because daily 1gal is just not good enough.
