Did a little lookin into this New Yorker tomato, turned over some rocks and went down a rabbit hole or two and with the pedigree that it has this tomato has the heritage to be a very good tomato for slicing and canning.
Digging into the pedigree I found some really good tomato lines back there.
Tomatoes like Fireball, Rhode Island, Allred, Break O'Day, Bison and Cooper's Special are just a hand full in the heritage of the New Yorker and most if not all that I listed were popular commercial grown tomatoes at there time.
