:) I've been baking a few Fall desserts lately and wondered if anyone has been baking anything in this Fall season?
There are a lot of baked goods that fit in with the fall perfectly. From the fruits like apples, pears, and pumpkin.
I try to bake as many different things as I can in order to try them all. I do especially love making Pecan Pie and have always wanted to try Sweet Potato Pie and other kinds as well.

I may make some pumpkin muffins this week and an Apple Pear Pie for the weekend.
There's nothing like baking in the fall with the aromas filling the whole house, it just makes the Fall season even better.

Here's a French Apple Tart I made a few weeks ago, it was pretty good I must say :drool . If anyone wants the recipe let me know.

You are an inspiration, GT!

. . . there I go repeating myself.

I'd like that recipe for the tart. We haven't even hit our favorite orchard yet but we've got lots of apples! However, there's something else we've got LOTS of:

Halloween Candy! Ugh! Maybe we can freeze that stuff for next year . . .

That looks wonderful! Dh lives for apple pie! Just got our first big box from the local orchard. Made baked apples on Sunday- pie this weekend! Fall and winter really inspire me to bake. Love the smells and warmth baking creates. The extra pounds I don't appreciate! Looking forward to the tart recipe...

Not Fall desserts specifically, just baking -- the oven helps keep the house warm! Recently it's been oatmeal raisin cookies, multigrain bread, orange cranberry muffins, chocolate chip cookies, banana nut muffins, and something new, challah bread:

Your braided bread looks lovely, Wendy! I bake all our bread, but nothing fancy like that!

Does challah bread use eggs; or am I confusing it with something else?

Yes, challah is an egg bread. (There are four eggs in this recipe; you hold out one yolk for the sugar glaze that makes it turn dark brown.)

It makes exceptional French toast, which is why I baked it. :)

The braiding isn't hard, you just divide in half, divide in thirds, roll between your palms to get long ropes, then put them down parallel to one another and gently lift and cross them (start in the middle and work out.)
