I just had to post this . .

I hope the people in BC are breathing a sigh of relief and can laugh a little about things. The tsunami warnings have now been dropped in Hawaii.

Scott Simon is talking about preparing for Hurricane Sandy but I am not going to belittle anyone's efforts to be prepared there and will post something on that thread in just a moment but . . . Here is Scott Simon on Twitter this morning:

Huuuge line of storm shoppers at @WholeFoods. Sold out of fennel! Already descended into savagery!

it's getting scary every time i keep reading about places that don't get these large quakes or that the last one they felt was something like 1940's.

eta: i haven't even bothered to run to the store to see what madness has befallen them! though i do need to go out and get some items at the hardware store that is next to our grocery store. i'd imagine both will be crowded. :/

Does anyone think we are heading for a whopper of a quake soon?
