Anyone Else Working Christmas ?

My line of work, Holidays mean lots of extra work. Dogs need to be taken care of Holiday or not. Anyone else have to work ?

Yup - trash never stops.
Well - we're here today till noon but we get tomorrow off. Then back to regular schedules on Friday.
Will you open your shop on Christmas day?? Or just go in to care for the boarders? When I worked for the vet, I was the only one who didn't have kids at home - so I got all of the "big family" holidays for kennel duty.

Cane we are closed, come in to clean feed and water. no groomings. Also no kids so always was one to work Christmas.

Anyone with "night duty" at the greenhouse was expected to cut roses through the day. Dang plants! The other guy on the property would show up so that it could be finished early.

The wholesale florist where I worked made a big deal outta being open 365 days a year. Maybe you have noticed that the flower shops make deliveries on the holidays. Some would get desperate if they run out of fuchsia ribbon, or something . I figured, let 'em borrow from each other !

Nope, but -- only management worked on Christmas and New Year's. Completely opposite at the greenhouse.

I have to work.
I have to clean the house, cook the meal, bake the desserts, set the table, assemble the foods, and clean up afterwards.
Okay, so much of the work is already done and most of what is left now is in the waiting. Waiting I am good at.
Oops! I have all the presents yet to wrap.

Sorry, @seedcorn, this year it feels like a HAVE TO. Changes are coming so quickly, I am overwhelmed. The meal is delicious, but simple. I am working by rote here.

Roast beast! A thick, juicy standing rib roast is my contribution to Christmas tradition in the family. Much of the fix'ns are from the garden.
