We got Nest and it was installed profesionally. So far no problems with it. We only have a gas stove for heating our entire cabin so in the middle of winter it takes about 24 hours to get it warmed up. But it's a small stove so depending on what kind of heating you have and how cold it is, it may take more or less time to warm up the place.
Getting Nest also allowed us to get internet service. This did take away from us doing other things than staring at our phones. But it's also convenient that one of my daughters can still work and allows me to check emails from parents. Several times already I have received emails from prospective parents and I like to return them within 24 hours.
