It's growing a lot like a lanky, un-pruned hedge...I'm not sure if I should allow it to grow as it pleases or prune it?
I'll get a picture of it tomorrow. It's 4.5-5ft tall, several single, long branches that are thin and flop over easily.

You can prune it if you like, but it's natural form is a multitrunked shrub. If you do shorten the branches make sure you cut above an outward facing leaf.

Just found out it's a shrub and not a tree...Guess I need to learn how to trim them now...

Can this plant be easily propagated by cuttings?? I've read they are a short lived plant and they are also pricey here, so rather not buy more...

You can 'train' it to grow as a tree. I have a small one growing that way, but it may be a constant chore to prune out sprouts. I don't prune my shrubs into anything considered formal shapes, but I do prune out branches going the wrong way or crossing and occasionally prune to keep or regain a smaller stature. Pruning will not hurt Sand Cherries.
