We went to an apple farm up here not too far from our place and they grow some interesting varieties. I bought some called Arkansas Black. They are very dense in texture, excellent flavor, and a very dark red in color (almost black). I'm going to try to get a tree or two - they were delicious!!

Anybody know anything about this variety? Any other unusual variety that I should consider planting for cooking/eating?

That's them alright, Chicken Boy!! I located a local nursery that carries them - can't wait to get a couple of trees! First I have to figure out the pollination thing.

I knew that!!

Is there a good site I can go to to research pollination of apple trees? I know some varieties are better pollinators for certain other varieties, but I really need to know how it works, etc.
