Should I cover my asparagus it is now just starting to come up and they are calling for a chance of snow showers Monday, here in Ohio! It is in the 3 year of growth!

pick it as it grows but don't uncover it until your temp lows are over 45-50.

since the tops help to hold snow and protect the plant from deep, hard freezes."

That is all I could find, when I did a search. I don't know, but it sounds like the plant will be fine as long as you don't harvest it.

If it were me, I might throw a little straw on it for the cold weather, just as extra insulation.
