Once again it's bathtub weekend in Nanaimo, I was hoping to catch it on our local cable station but they don't seem to be covering it at least not as it's happening.

This has been going on for 52 year. The first year it was hilarious, most of the tubs either sank or barely made it out of the harbour. Now it's a keen competitor sport with entries from as far away as Australia. The Marine Festival is fun for the whole family, a silly boat race https://www.google.com/search?q=sil...vLPcAhXHIjQIHfEnDn8Q_AUICigB&biw=1056&bih=719 Lots of activities, fireworks Saturday night before the race on Sunday.
Google Nanaimo Bathtub racing for more information and photos, very seldom is it smooth sailing, it's usually windy this time of the year here.

From the title, I got a flashback to the 70s when bath night was on Saturday night for all us kids. Yep, back then it was once a week for most folks and just bird baths in between.

yep and all four of us kids in there at once. had to keep yelling at my brother's for peeing in the water.

once in a while Dad would line us up outside and buzz cut the hair. i had collicks in the front and he didn't know what to do with that so he buzzed all of mine. the brothers and sister at least could have bangs.

the good old days. :)
