Yes, yes, yes, sounds really yummy, definitely going to try this. The only change I'll make is leave out the potatoes, cook them separately, mash with a bit of butter and milk. Put mash on plate and ladle the stew over, now where's the hot mustard. :drool.

Major, that recipe does sound yummy.
And I like Annette's idea of making mashed potatoes instead.
I was scratching my head over the number of steps to make a supposedly simple dish. Bummer.
But even mashed potatoes is more complicated that we think, to get them perfect. Did you know, you always need to add salt while cooking, because after the potatoes are done, adding salt doesn't flavor them up as well. And we are supposed to use a ricer, not a masher. And to not use an electric mixer; that makes potato glue. And the milk should be room temperature when you add it. And the potatoes need to be served immediately.
Whew! o_O
I think I'll order a pizza.

....and don't forget the hot mustard :) :drool. Another simple stewed dish is the way I make swiss steak now, brown some tenderized steak, then saute some onions, throw them in a casserole. Top with a can of mushroom soup/ half can of water and cook in the oven at 350º for an hour, yummy. I used to make gravy with the pan drippings but this is so much easier and actually tastes better.
