I plan on growing 'King of the Garden' pole lima beans (from Baker Creek.)

I would appreciate everyones' methods for freezing these beans.

I have never grown that particular varitity but I just shell, and freeze my peas and beans. I do vaccum seal them though. I wash them before I use them but not before I freeze them. On the rare occasion I do wash before freezing I make sure that I get as much water as I can off of them. Spread them out on flour cloth towels and pat them dry. To me they taste fresher after being frozen if they are not frozen wet.

My mother always blanched hers before freezing and packaged them in plastic freezer containers along with some of the juice from the blance water. Can't say that was wrong either as those were pretty tasty when I was growing up. LOL

Can't wait to hear what and how others do this.
