You know you have a gardener soul when this type article holds interest for you. I may not share this with the wife though for fear of eyerolls.

Bison snot holds the American prairie together. Here's how, according to an ecosystem expert:

Hard to believe, I know. But really if the humans that live in the expensive gated communities like Nantucket has were lucid enough to not have 3x the average amount of cocaine in their sewage water than the rest of the USA then I would say the Buffalo had a chance to lead us into a better context. All those chems are just poison.

Ha! :D

Well it took me about half a day to be willing to open this thread. It is more than snot –– it's an entire bison digestive system plus, plus, plus!

Okay, an important point is that we shouldn't be arrogant (or, too timid :hide) about what we don't know.

Steve, who sorta ran into a moose during a walk through a park, today. I wonder what role they have had in local forests ;)

We were camping in Custer State Park, French Creek Horse Camp, early -90's.
All 4 horses were on picket pins, which means that they were ground tied.
Our current dog, all of 30 pounds, starts barking.
We look up the road through camp and there is this huge bison slowly walking down it and towards Our camp.
Dog is barking, horses are snorting, we are giving it a wide berth.
Turns out that This bison was getting too familiar with the tourists.
Ranger told us later that he was destined for the dinner table that Fall...
