Hmmm that gives me an idea... not sure DH will like it even though his flatbottom has not been on the water in over 12 years~ sure as I haul it out and put dirt in it he'd come along as say * I was gonna use that!*

What a great idea and I bet the metal boat helps keep the soil warmer longer as well! Please take some pictures when it is all full of beautiful greens.

My mother got this one started. There used to be a 2-3 acre pond in the front yard thus the boat. The pond dried up/drained after an earthquake in the north/midwest a few years back. There is another one turned over in the side yard. We have just had a new pond dug that is a lot smaller but 160x100. If the other boat is not workable/floatable we may turn into another planting. I will try to remember to make another picture in a few weeks. The lettuce, radishes, and onions are well on their way to a salad.
