I am a bit apprehensive to show my 'Bio' attire, so we will leave this to me sharing with everyone what I received!

It is quite a Treasure! :love

I am going to just open this and be honest because this leads to my question about that or those plants...ok?

#1. Liatris Mucronata-- Wow, this is nice! Really! I will get these set someplace out front ! The seeds look very fresh and in different stages of drying. There are some greener ones. The baggie on this one steamed up like a sauna. I have the seeds in the open and I spritzed them with some hydrogen peroxide (for mold!) LOL. They look good but need to finish maturing as they dry. I am pleased!

#2. Amblyolepis Setigera (Huisache Daisy)-- Wow, this is really really nice. I can only imagine how fabulous these would look across the front drive flanking the gate! I can see these now! Great looking seeds, but again, these were all plumped up with steam, and I think some of the seeds are germinating! I am not too alarmed, because alot of our native perennials sprout now (October/November) and hold out as young plants until Spring, then they really grow big! So I am going to have these placed in the garden immediately just incase, and I will water them in for sprouting now!

#3. Sunflower-- I am not sure we got this one in time, but time will tell. The seedheads were turned completely black and had white mold growing on them. Very wet like mulch! I have them out drying now.

#4. Eryngium Leavenworthii-- This one came in perfectly dry, all the heads look fabulous--I sort of dread opening them up!! All of my friends are going to want this one! I am going to have fun! Thanks!

#5. Iris-- Beautiful, they will thrive and multiply so no matter what we can now ensure that this color will live forever!!! I love iris and they respond so nicely to our environment! I cannot wait to see them!

#6. Commelina Erecta-- This is the one that is freaking me out. Firstly because I am a complete maniac about this family line. Are the leaves on this one thin or shorter and fatter? These were sent wrapped in a wet towel?? I looked and it seems one has a sprout on it? I am thinking these need immediate peat and warmth with light? I am going to go that direction because of your lead and having them shipped wrapped moist! Oh my, this one is so adored by me, I must make this one work!

How can I possibly thank you ? My gosh I sent standard ole stuff and you sent me incredible treasures! :love

Thank you! :bouquet

Well, you have been VERY generous with the goodies when you have sent packages so I wanted to do somethign special for you too. I also wanted to treat Joe but he seems more in to succulents or more exotics and those I just don't have. So I feel bad for sending you more goodies than him but I DID send him a whole FOREST of plum trees...:)

So, the seeds were ALL harvested the very day I mailed them. It was a spur of the moment thing so I didn't take the time to dry them. Some, like the Liatris Mucronata are just now flowering - these flower right up until our first freeze and the butterflies LOVE them. I had a HECK of a time finding the few I did find. Also, the little daisy is still flowering so I tried to take the ones that looked more "done" than the others. If the sunflowers are goners I will send you more when I send some brugs - we have 10 bazillion of them. The commelina seed sprouts were already sprouting in the little fold where the flowers once were so I felt it would be best to send them wrapped damp. Crossing my fingers they make it for you. I, too, am fond of this little wildflower. The blooms are very delicate and vivid. I think I possibly sent you enough of the Eryngium to share...if not, I can send more! I walk past about 20 million just to get to the driveway! LOL

I only hope I sent the right irises. There are about 5-7 different colors planted in that particular bed so I had to go by pictures to judge where each color was. If they are the wrong ones I will send more in the spring :)

I am SOOOO glad you both got your packages promptly! And even more glad you like the surprises!

Joe, if you like those kinds of wildflowers I would be more than happy to gather seeds for you too! They are everywhere and easy enough to find ;)

OH, I forgot - the leaves on this commelina are thin I would guess. Here is a picture of the very plant and the very bloom I got your seeds from:

You are very kind and I thank you.

Ummmm, I can almost taste the wine now! And these are fast growing trees too! Did you read the history of these little trees? OH, and yes, they can be invasive since they can spread from the roots. But I shall look forward to your wine - I have never tasted homemade and hope to make some one day from my blackberries :drool
