Can someone tell me what type of weed this is?

I agree a close up showing the flower, leaves, and stem would be a help. Maybe something to give us a scale. I'm not going to hazard a guess yet, I can't see enough detail to think I can do any better than anyone else.

Knowing your general location might help too. You'll notice most of us have a location in our profile, that information is often very helpful with a lot of things.

No... wait.. I think I see something that I have all over my yard... I have no idea what it's called , but when you touch it, it throws seeds all over the place.

Reading down the comments on that page, I marveled that anyone thought that ground ivy has a "delightful scent". I find it obnoxious, and it is trying to take over our yard.

I like the smell of it myself, but it is mostly because it brings back good memories of pulling weeds with my great-grandma in her flowerbed.

It makes me think of thyme. Do the leaves have a fragrance when crushed?

My first thought was thyme too.
