My favourite is Mint Jewels... sometimes I can find them at CVS. Also black licorice strands and those huge Pixie Stix (pure flavored sugar) ha ha

Oooh, the mint jewels sound yummy! Were those kinda like Junior Mints?

says you! :) i like it, but prefer caramel corn (the soft chewy kind that Mom makes, not that hard candy coated stuff that is dry like, well, popcorn...)

the dots on paper had a certain smell which now comes to me via the purple irises we grow. i ate miles of those paper tapes.
Amen sister! Candy corn rocks!

Remember popcorn balls? There were two kinds, one made from caramel like your mom makes, and the other a pink sugar concoction. I liked both, and very often these homemade goodies would be handed out to kids on Halloween, wrapped in waxed paper. I recall my parents (and me) making one or the other version of these ubiquitous treats one year, but can't remember which variety.

I also do not like ice cream that contains pieces of soggy nuts ....

i like about any ice-cream in it with nuts of any kind. :) funny how people can be so different in tastes.

I forGOT about These forgettable things, liquid in wax bottles--

those were around when i was younger but i only tried them a few times and then moved on. i do drink some soda once in a while (Mom and i will split a Coke sometimes because she likes them and doesn't want a full one and i'll finish off what i don't put in her glass) but they are not things i really want. i like my sugar and candies in more solid forms i guess - but that rock candy i no longer really go after - that was more of a seasonal Christmas thing that we did.

I like a few pieces of candy corn around Halloween. I like to bite off the sections on the candy corn - first the yellow tip, then the orange middle, at last the bottom yellow - yum!

ah, i mistook the candy corn for meaning candy popcorn balls, but i don't mind candy corn either, but in that case i like the chocolate bottomed ones better - if i'm eating them at all.

i was just talking the other day about the other Halloween candy that a lot of people don't like that i do (peanut butter filled taffy). they often were wrapped in black and orange wax paper. i liked them as pretty much anything with peanut butter or peanuts is usually good to me - minor exception is poorly made peanut brittle. if it is made too sticky i won't eat it as i don't want that stuff pulling out my fillings!
