Cosmo ~ We had a Poultry Store ~ on the folks ranch ~ at that time Capons and Caponettes were popular ~ all the energy that would go into sexual maturation went into producing a very large meaty chicken ~ if this in done today ~ I don't know ```
Eventually we couldn't produce enough chickens to satisfy our outlet to markets and restaurants ~ so Brother began to buy them from a fellow name Rickenbosh who owned ranches in Palmdale and Lancaster ~ he would rent the ranches out ~ sell the chicks to the renter ~ sell the chicken feed to the renter ~ then buy the chickens back and sell them ~ we went with trucks and picked up the chickens at night so they would be calm ~ and haul them to our place or to Manor Poultry in Torrance ~ but that's another story ```
