We have a couple of little field mice living in our chicken coop (don't blame them - it's a good source of food!). Anyway, I disrupted their nest and sent one of them running, and one of the chickens got it! She didn't eat it, but pecked at it and carried it around for a while. So my question is, is it a problem to have mice in the henhouse, except that they are eating the food? If it is a problem, how can I get rid of them? Setting traps doesn't seem like it would work very well in this situation.
I just have these visions of the chickens running around with mousetraps stuck to their feet.
