I have a blossom on one of my Christmas cacti and another is in bud. Seems kind of early. :idunno

I have one that always bloomed at random times. Unfortunately, I don't have a sunny enough spot anymore, so it hasn't bloomed in a while. :(

I have one that is setting buds now that faithfully blooms for Thanksgiving every year. My mom has one that is a different color, but her's always blooms for Christmas. I guess there must be different varieties.

Oh, that is a pretty one! Mine is kind of hot pink- not the greatest holiday color! Any house plant that blooms (anytime of the year) is on my favorite list!

That pink one like yours Cats is the first one I got. It used to be my grandmother's and she passed away in 1973. It's my oldest plant.

The Thanksgiving and Christmas cactus are different. When they are out of bloom you can tell the difference by the width of the leaves. I think the Thanksgiving cactus is the one that has the wider leaves but I'm not sure.

I have never seen either until now... I really need to look into them. However, I remember one of the first plants I even killed was a cactus!

Christmas cactus will stand a lot of abuse but you have to treat them right if you want good blooms. They can stand being dry but they prefer more water than other cactus.
