i woke up a bit ago with Mom coughing, i really thought it was morning... oh dark 26 isn't quite what i was expecting... at least she could laugh about it... :)

It's almost 300 miles away with 14,000 foot Mt Ranier between. But, Seattle weather doesn't need written directions to arrive here and often does. This has been what locals might call an "open Winter." How it might be "open" with so much cloud cover perhaps shows the need for improving local vernacular.

The ground has certainly been open. Any signs of snow beyond mountain tops and corners of parking lots has vanished days ago. Like Seattle and locations thousands of feet lower in elevation, it isn't freezing this morning.

Well, it's easier to be out and about ... to the freezer in the garage ... lunch ingredients. Better take a trip to the soopermarket for something fresh. There might have been a ship in from Chile.

booberries from Peru! they're sometimes not too bad. we've been eating frozen strawberries recently along with our usual apples and tangerines.

We toured around Mt. Ranier this last September. Funny, it was Sunny all day!
