@ninnymary , Did you decide to sow shallot seeds again? You did that in the Fall one year.

All onions, leeks, shallots, look about the same at seedling stage. Are your seedlings beginning to grow to some size?

Ooops I forgot to post the pictures, haha.

No i didn't start them from seeds. Last year they took about 10 months to harvest and just tied up my valuable real estate haha. This year I bought a 6 pack of starts.

the pictures

Those look like shallots.

There are different kinds and I wonder if some are crosses with potato onions (which i only imagine is possible) but I haven't grown potato onions. Some seem so different that they are like different species but they all are sisters to our common, everyday bulb onions. More gardeners should make shallots "common."

ETA: but I do see what you mean. They have those flattened leaves like leeks.

Good Morning. Happy Pi Day!

Pie later. Contemplated banana in my Wheaties but I have an early morning errand so will carry the one fully ripe banana in the coat pocket. So, it was a Honeycrisp apple on the side and raisins in the cereal.

Have you ever thought that teenagers eat Wheaties while senior citizens buy Raisin Bran but which are virtually the same with only the addition of dried up fruits?

;) Steve

I am also having my second coffee now. Before the rain poured down, I got some hours to transplant some hardy young plants outside. I am running out of my nursery pots - so some plants have to leave the greenhouse.

The good news is the weather will be milder from now on. We already moved the quail house out from the hoop tunnel. I am preparing to apply for a small shop in April - plants, seeds, gardening utensils, and to-go coffee/sandwiches.

Good Morning everyone!
So sorry I haven't been on in a couple days been trying to get my house straight from not doing anything this weekend. Here's the pics of the toolbox on top of the car I promised y'all.
I'm making cookies again today- Choc chip and Old Time SOFT Sugar cookies. I not going to be greedy and keep all the cookies for myself I'll share with y'all but sad to report that there isn't any coffee to go with them.

I don't like Wheaties nor Raisin Bran. I actually didn't grow up eating cereal so my kids didn't have it either lol. There was a phase where as an adult I liked Mini Wheats. Must have been all that sugar. But the other day I was looking around to see if we had any Honeynut Cheerios I could snack on but nada.

Steve, that banana is gonna get too ripe storing it in your pocket. I'm kind of picky when it comes to bananas. They have to be just right, not too green and certainly not over ripe!
