Good July Morning :)

Another hot day on our horizon.

We had an 88⁰f (31⁰C) day in April, another 88 in May and 2 episodes of days over 90⁰f in June — this one extending into July. It is supposed to be 96f (36C) this afternoon. It is a merciful 59f (15C) right now at 5AM. Perhaps locals are adjusting to this. It helps not to be slammed with the heat.

I have 1 away-from-home errand to run today and the outfit opens early. I plan to be there in their first hour.

It’s just Texas hot here, with the added misery of high humidity. My wanna be neighbors are finally getting their modular home delivered. Got 2 pieces yesterday, one in place, the other one is parked up at the church. I’m guessing the third piece will show up soon. I’m delighted for them. Weather has not cooperated. They thought they would be moved in by April. Hahaha! Uh, NOPE!

On my second cup of coffee. Yesterday I almost missed church, by accident I realized it was Sunday. I had just enough time to shower, get dressed and go!
Had a pop up storm yesterday afternoon. Wind blew rain sideways for an hour, dumped 1 1/2” of rain, way too many lightning strikes, one hit so close that it startled me and it blew out the power for everyone on my road.
This morning is foggy and HOT. Read that as steam bath. Gonna be a sweaty miserable morning, just to get chores done.
DD and I were just talking about we have not had a thunder storm. All spring we have had some rain, but we have not heard thunder or seen any lightening. I told her that is what I miss about living in Oklahoma, but after reading your storm story, I am less homesick for storms. LOL

The neighbor has a cat that looks very similar :). She has a little white on her. It has been out probably because of the warm mornings. The temperature is above 60f (16C) this AM. The neighbor claims that she is very spoiled and comfortable indoors. The cat showed up as a stray just after she moved here and made herself at home –– despite there being 2 very old dogs living there. I see next to nothing of the kitty during the cooler/cold months ;).

Somewhat over 40, my neighbor is on her way to being something of a cat lady. Tom cats visit, as they will, frequently. She set out a pet carrier with an open door and a pillow hidden behind a bush in her front yard. Last Winter, she had a small house inside her fenced backyard. It had a power cord to it :D. Tom cat has a warm, little indoors to stop at during their tours ...

I will be the cat lady if DS and his wife ever move. LOL

It feels cooler today. The last 2 days we had hot in the 90s. I think it will be close to that today, but cloudy and feels nice outside right now. I have had a cup of coffee and getting ready to go back outside. I will have some Sun Gold cherry tomatoes real soon. Things look good and I have a lot of work to do. I have had a couple mornings of doing things with DD and helping with kids. She had a birthday party for Izzy on Saturday. She turned 5 and now they are coming on Friday for July 4th and DS is cooking steaks on the grill for all of us.
