these quiet mornings i can get from time to time are what i really need to recharge my own battery. i had breakfast and puttered around and looked into a few things and then just curled up for a nap until i woke up again. just what i needed. no phone ringing, etc. just quiet and calm for a few hours. :)

like @digitS' i also have trash on Monday mornings to deal with and today was only trash day so that makes it easier to not have to deal with the recycling bins. still it is cold out there and wakes me up more than i really want to be up in the morning but it has to be done and Mom shouldn't have to do it so here i am and it does get done.

it could have been much much worse (it wasn't raining or snowing or icy or windy).

I thought that this was in funny contrast to @heirloomgal feeling on top of the food preparation cycle ;).

for something different today for breakfast i made some oatmeal and put peanut butter on it and then added some peanuts to give it some more texture and chew. no other added sugar or anything as the peanut butter has some sugar added to it.

we'll see how my body deals with this sudden change in routine... in the past my body has done quite ok with oatmeal, but i haven't been eating much of it for quite a few months now so perhaps this change will upset the balance and get the farm "down there" upset... we'll see... :)

the things we do for entertainment in the winter... (yes it is winter here now at last).
It's blooming cold here this evening

This pesky cat has 3 kennels and a dreadful old rabbit hutch that he often chooses to sleep in
The rabbit hutch keeps letting in water somehow and I cannot find where it is coming from. So i have used a cat loo and placed it up on wood to keep dry.

Today I found some think foam lining. I scrubbed the floor then laid this foam down before adding a clean puppy pad. Then asked my neighbour for his tacking gun, so I could cover thick plastic over the small window on the front. Bless him he did it for me

After all this, i took out the cat loo putting 2 puppy pads straw and a warm blanket on inside it.
Old puss took exception to this and wouldn't go inside clean dry warm hutch.

Here he is outside my Timmy cat's little kennel. He seemed to have been really fond of him and even has his old blanket

So far four of us is trying to make this grumpy boy warm throughout this coming winter.
He has to be the most spoilt stray cat that ever hit this area.
