You've seen purple, red, white, and yellow carrots, but did you know black carrots are a thing too? They don't sound tempting do they!?
I also learned that long ago carrots were grown for their leaves and seeds and the roots were not tasty at that point. I think they wanted the leaves because they smelled nice, not for eating.
