@Carol Dee , those are so pretty. I'm really fond of Columbine and have them scattered throughout the garden, some have just found their way into my garden perhaps by birds and some I have planted. I bought seed for several species back in the 80's, they have crossed and multiplied, now I have them popping up all over the place. I have maroon, purple, blue, pink, mauve and white. Even when they come up in places where I don't want them I always let them bloom once to see what color they are, if it's one I already have I don't mind pulling it but if it's a new color or shade I'll dig it up and move it. I don't have any of the long spurred ones tho. I should have taken a few pictures but I think mine are pretty much over the hill now.

What a beautiful show in your garden Carol Dee! Mine are blooming now as well, but I don't have anywhere near the variety you do. Love your water feature as well.

Absolutely, they self seed. Some bird must have dropped the purple columbine that has been self seeding and spreading around the NE side of my house to the front, east side.

@ducks4you the last photo is much paler and shorter, wider blossom than the Natural variation. (Some of which I would like to get someday.)
