Some bird dropped columbine seeds maybe 7 years ago, and they keep spreading.
Here is where I leave them grow, in between my front steps. They have spread around the front bed AND around to the north side of the house. I even have a lighter, lavendar colored Columbine that came up this year.
Not sure why, but it's pretty!

Columbine plants live 3 years and drop tons of seed. Happy weed, indeed!
