Cornbeef and Cabbage Tips

If you have 4 hours, buy the corned beef with the spice packet and cook it with cabbage and potatoes in the oven on about 250-300. Monitor it after 2 hours, and turn it up if it needs more, down and let it sit if it's done by then. You cannot rush it in a crock pot.
DD's and I eat this meal often during the year, and I prefer a non-sweet mustard, the best yellow mustard, for a garnish. I have also made it with brussels sprouts. :D
Tell your friends to bring the bread. I prefer pumpernickel or rye or sourdough.

Not really sure how it happened, but 6 friends are coming over tonight for cornbeef and cabbage ( is it St Paddys day already ?) I have a crock pot or a stock pot what is the most fool proof way to make it ? I plan on serving lots of red wine, in case food is tasteless.
